"'All we have here,' they said, 'are five loaves and two fishes"' (Matthew 14:17, NEB)
Five thousand people and they were all hungry. When Jesus told His disciples to feed the crowd, all they could find were five biscuits and two sardines. Acutely conscious of their own inadequacy, the disciples went to Jesus. He took what they had and transformed it into abundance. He's still doing that. For example, some people think cross-cultural missionaries are super-heroes of the faith with extraordinary spiritual resources. While we were serving as missionaries a lady said to me: "I could never do what you're doing. You're a better Christian than I am." While troubled by her own inadequacies, she had mistakenly put me up on a pedestal. Actually, I'm just as inadequate as she felt. Alas, in front of life's enormous problems, we are all merely 5-loaves-and-2-fish people. However, that's also good news. Like the disciples, we can give Jesus what we have. However inadequate it may seem, He will make it sufficient. God has the ability to take little and make much of it. Let's trust Him. --Howard Culbertson

David and Crew, I am praying for you guys to to have an incredible last few days of your trip. You are impacting the lives of children and adults there in the D.R. like you would never imagine. Reading about your experiences there this week, I am longing to be back to my second home. Tell everyone there I love and miss them. If you see my people from Bombita tell them I said hello and see them soon. It's no coincidence that you are there right now for such a time as this. Be safe and let your light shine. - Rodney
Miss you so much, but I know you are doing and experiencing great things. I'm back in Huntington by myself while Mom and Candy are down at Jasper. It's really weird not having any of you here. I don't even have Candy to bark at me! They say silence is deafining and I think I know what that means now. I hope we here something from the group today, I can't wait to listen to your wonderful stories about your experiences. You know me a motivational quotes. I looked up this one today and thought it was appropriate for your group:
Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. I Timothy 4:12
Keep up the great work spreading the news of God's love. I will see you soon.
Lauren, Hi sugar! I miss you, but we sure have been busy here at grandma and grandpa's house finding all kinds of "treasures". Margo, I have signed you up for a Picasa Web Album to store all of your pictures. If the internet service you have there has good speed you could upload some of your pictures to make room on your camera. The user name and password is the same for the blog. Sounds like you guys are having a great trip.Kate is taking good care of us.Luv Ya Guys, Paul
ALL, FYI; If anyone is wanting to print off photo's that are on the blog you might want to wait until Margo can get the original picture to you. When they go on the blog they are reduced in size. They look good on the web but print quality is no good.

Hi Jeremy, I just signed up for a blog account, so I'm not sure if you got my first message. Your dad and I are praying for you; trust you're having a wonderful time doing ministry.
You are on our minds a bunch! David, did the pregnant gal at the internet place have her bambino yet? By the way, how did that place get described as an "internet cafe" to us? Maybe an "internet sauna" "internet inferno" "internet center of the earth molten lava spot" or "internet be careful you don't get electrocuted sitting in a pool of your own sweat" but not cafe!
Tell John I'm working on finding him an autoclave. Find out what his timeframe is for needing one in place.

Hello D.T. Team! We hope you had a wonderful Wednesday! It rained here today and the humidity was high, so we can all get a feel of how the D.R. weather is.
David we cancelled T-Ball tonight and they are calling for more rain tomorrow.....so we will see what happens. Hannah and I had a nice day together today. It was great hanging out with her!!! We miss you and Alex....it would be nice to 'hear' from him sometime this week. :) No big news here....just that we can't wait to be there with you!

Maria,
I hope things are going well for you and the team and that God is showing you some amazing things. I miss you, but I know that you are enjoying yourself. Just remember even though you may want to, you cannot fit a small child in your suitcase! Call again sometime--It was good to hear your voice. I love you! Mom
Hola Amanda!
Hey I got to use some Spanish last night with a patient and companion who neither spoke English. I only had to look at my cheat sheet a few times. :) I'm sure you'll be speaking espanol in circles around me after this week!
I'm going to pick up Kristen at Ball State tomorrow evening. I've talked to her each night and she always asks about you. She misses you as much as we do.
Keep spreading the word of God and showing his love. You are very good at that. Love ya, Mom

Hope you are having a great time, Heath. We are praying for you and the group every day.
David and Crew,
I am praying for you guys to to have an incredible last few days of your trip. - Rodney
Lauren (and all),
Miss you so much, but I know you are doing and experiencing great things.
Love Dad
Lauren,
Hi sugar! I miss you, but we sure have been busy here at grandma and grandpa's house finding all kinds of "treasures". It has been really hot here and I'm wondering what the weather is like there. I hope you are getting all of our comments. I would love to hear your voice again, call if you can. We are going over to the nursing home to see great-grandma tonight. I will try to explain where you are at right now. I love you and pray for you each day, just like I do like when you are at home. XOXOXO
Love,
Mom

Hi friends! Not sure what the weather is like there, well actually I do because I have been checking weather.com everyday! But it rained here this afternoon and David games were cancelled again tonight!!!! No worries, Matt and EJ are on it.
In case you didn't know, George DeTellis passed away in the night. For those of you who did not get to meet him, he is the man responsible for starting New Missions. He was a wonderful servant of God! Please pray for his family.
It was great to hear from you Margo! I can't wait to hear about your experiences. God has always provided just the right people to serve in the D.R. when we have taken teams down. Margo,
I have signed you up for a Picasa Web Album to store all of your pictures. If the internet service you have there has good speed you could upload some of your pictures to make room on your camera. The user name and password is the same for the blog. Sounds like you guys are having a great trip.Kate is taking good care of us.Luv Ya Guys, Paul
ALL,
FYI;
If anyone is wanting to print off photo's that are on the blog you might want to wait until Margo can get the original picture to you. When they go on the blog they are reduced in size. They look good on the web but print quality is no good.
Lauren,
Getting ready to head back to Jasper. Another Thunderstorm just rolled through hear. That makes 3 days in a row. Luckily for me, I just got finished mowing the yard. Mom will be glad. It was great hearing from you last night. Be good, no more run ins with the local police!! I'm laughing but I'll bet it wasn't funny at the time. Keep spreading the good news.

Hey DR Gang,
You are on our minds a bunch!
